This cabinet has a variety of inspirations, but the floating base gives it lift and presence in its stance.
Hand Turned Rosewood Pulls
These doors have a pronounced Bead Detail which adds to the depth of the doors and smooths the visual transition from the Veneered panels to the door frames.
One of the more interesting and challenging parts of this cabinet was to design / build a glass caddy to hang a variety of sizes meant for different types of wine.
This system is supported with a Mechanical Wood joint. Each groove is spaced accordingly to accommodate a range of glass sizes, and types.
On the left the shelf is designed to support a Decanter.
On the Right the Drawer Holds Accessories, and Below that is Wine Bottle Storage. This can accommodate 12 Bottles of unrefrigerated Red Wines. It has delicately crafted bevels and center support to keep the bottle from rocking side to side.
Recessed Tab Pull, Attached to Quilted Maple Drawer Front, Hand-cut Dovetails for Durability.
The Drawer will House wine openers and accessories.
Solid Brass Hinges hold the doors, while bridal joinery supports the cabinet on its floating base.
Grain Selection is carefully considered. Dovetails hold the case together.
Tongue And Groove Backboards provide Rigidity and a subtle visual offset to the darker Walnut case, which will brighten the interior of the case.
